About the Event
The Black Queer Studies conference is being organized by the Department of Communication at UNC with support from the Lambert Family Conference Gift, funded by the generous donation of Bill and Sheila Lambert, as well as co-sponsorship from UNC's College of Arts & Sciences, The Departments of African, African American & Diaspora Studies, American Studies, Art & Art History, Classics, Dramatic Art, Geography & Environment, Music, Religious Studies, Sociology, and Women & Gender Studies, the Minor in sexuality Studies, The Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Research in Black Culture & History, The Center for the Study of the American South, The LGBT Center, the Institute for the Arts & Humanities, SLATE (Students Learning to Advance Truth & Equity), the Southern Oral History Program, Carolina Seminars, UNC University Libraries, the Carolina Pride Alum Network, Duke University's Program in Gender, Sexuality, & Feminist Studies, and Northwestern University's College of Communication.
